About Emerald Coast Community Church

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about Emerald Coast Community Church and our church family. We hope that after you look through our website and attend a worship service, you will consider becoming a more active part of our growing community of faith.

Led by Pastor Don Coker, the other Elders and a great leadership team Emerald Coast offers many ministries for people of all ages, ethnicities and walks of life who are looking to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. God has revealed in his Word that every human being exists to magnify the all-satisfying greatness of his Son, Jesus Christ. That's why the apostle Paul has this ambition: "that Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death" (Philippians 1:20). Magnified, that is, like a telescope, not a microscope. Microscopes make tiny things look bigger than they are. Telescopes make massive things look more like what they really are. For that reason ECCC has adopted the "telescope" as one of our ways to convey the scope of our ministry. Our calling as a church is to function like telescopes for the beauty of Christ. To quote John Piper "The world sees Jesus as a mere pinprick in the night sky of their lives. He is, in fact, the Ruler of all things and the most valuable Person in the universe." Astonishingly, He has made a universe in which He is best magnified in us when we are most satisfied in Him. Think about it: If, when you die, you are so satisfied in Jesus that you say, "To die is gain" (Philippians 1:21), you show that he is more valuable than all that life can offer. That's good telescope work. (Which means you don't need a college degree to do the most important thing in the world.) Therefore, we at Emerald Coast are radically committed to helping you be supremely satisfied in God! We love broken people. They make good telescopes. Of course, there isn't any other kind of human. "None is righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10). Jesus did not come to recruit the strong; he came to save helpless sinners and "give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45). We hope you feel at home here -- whatever your ethnic or cultural background. We are not perfect. But we have been saved by The One who is. And He did it by grace alone, through faith alone, on the basis of Christ alone, for the glory of God alone, revealed infallibly by the Scripture alone. So whether you're seeking God, curious about our fellowship, or attend our worship service regularly, there's something for you here. We invite you to experience the genuine worship, encouraging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of our community. We hope you will come to worship and celebrate with us often. And, if you do not have a church home...maybe this is the place to get connected!

The "Scope" of our Mission

Love God...Love Others...Serve The World...For The Glory Of Jesus Christ! In an age of confusion and complexity Emerald Coast Community has endeavored to adopt and develop a very simplistic yet highly effective philosophy of ministry. This singular philosophy is three fold:

1) Love God-- This step is set in motion through Sunday morning worship. We believe strongly in corporate worship and the assembling of God's people for the primary purpose of adoring His Person. Through relevant teaching of Scripture, passionate music, and comfortable conversation the people at Emerald Coast Community encourage one another on into an ever deepening love relationship with Christ Jesus. For an idea of what a typical Sunday morning service is like at ECCC please check out our "what to expect" page.

2) Love Others-- This step is worked out primarily through connect groups within ECCC. Accountability and strong relationships are essential to leading a passionate Christian walk. For information on getting connected please check out Connect Groups under our ministries page.

3) Serve the World-- The natural overflow of loving God and others will be serving the world around us. We strongly believe that a healthy believer will not only take in the nourishment of the Word but will in turn invest what they have learned into the lives of those across the street and around the world. Here at ECCC we strive to manifest the love of God locally, domestically, and internationally.
